Next week, Karen Alvarado and I will be performing alongside other artists at an Aquila Theater event on Veterans Day, November 11th. The piece Karen and I will be performing is called MARCH 3RD, 2007, and it explores some of the soldiers I met just before deploying to Baghdad. Like many of my shorter plays, it blends techniques from the 'verbatim' theater movement with absurdism and Noh drama...all this is just a technical way of saying that the play accentuates reality with abrupt bursts of humor and stylized movement.
Our performance will take place at 1pm at Hemmerdinger Hall, just off Washington Square (31 Washington Place). The venue is a part of the New York University campus. If you would like to see Karen and I perform, then aim to get there at about 1pm. We will be performing first.
